Pumpkin Picking Field Trip!
We will be going on a class trip to Stuart Farm’s in Bedford, New York on 10/18. Please have your student return their permission slip and the $5 fee by 10/4 so that we can secure transportation. We are also looking for chaperones, so please let us know if you are available to volunteer!
Fall Bake Sale
The Fall bake sale will be held after-school on 10/25 in the court yard. Please contact our class parent, Mr. Lee, (G.Lee@website.com), if you would like to make a donation.
What we are learning this month…
· Math: This month we will be working with fractions and decimals. Students will be reviewing their 3rd grade learning, and adding new knowledge.
· ELA: Students will be working on opinion writing in October. They will be forming opinions based on their reading, and defending them with evidence from the text.
· Sex and Gender: We will be working on a special unit this month about sex and gender. Students will learn about the biological differences between men and women, and will examine gender differences in society. Parents will be asked to participate in some homework assignments, and students will bring home a reference list of materials for you to support your student throughout this unit.
